Cobra Starship & Leighton Meester Unleash Music Video Worth Gossiping About

Every fan of Josh Swartz’s Gossip Girl has a love-hate relationship with Blair Waldorf, but what may be surprising to some is that the Upper East Side’s queen of evil not only has great taste in music, but also just might be the next big thing in the realm of rock and roll. Leighton Meester (23) recently signed with Universal Republic, and her album, which is said to be “electronic, dancey, and edgy” should drop this fall.

Meanwhile, Cobra Starship, a band that has gone from Snakes on a Plane to keytar-jamming electro-rock headlining megastars is preparing to release its third album Hot Mess in the near future. As a teaser to both albums, Meester and the Starship gang collaborated on the song Good Girls Go Bad, and they released an accompanying music video today (see below).

While we’re excited for both upcoming albums, at least one of the members of Guerrilla Radio is almost just as excited to see Meester bitch her way to the top of the UES social pyramid when Gossip Girl’s third season premieres on September 14, 2009. Sorry guys, I had to say it!
